01What is an RFQ?
An RFQ (request for quotation) is a request a buyer sends to one or more suppliers asking for a price on a clearly defined item. In manufacturing, an RFQ usually includes drawings or 3D models, material, quantity, surface finish, tolerances and the required delivery date; each supplier replies with a quotation showing unit price, tooling, lead time and terms. An RFQ differs from an RFI (request for information), which only gathers facts, and an RFP (request for proposal), which asks suppliers to propose a solution. The form on this page is Dayao’s RFQ.
02Do you sign an NDA before I send drawings?
Yes. Tick the NDA box in the form and Dayao sends an NDA for you to sign before you share any files.
03Can I get a quote without drawings?
For a finished product, yes — photos, a sketch or a product you want to improve are enough to start an OEM / ODM discussion. For parts, a 3D model or drawing gives a firm price; without it we can only estimate.
04Do you offer instant online quotes?
No. An engineer reviews every drawing, because tolerances, threads and finishes change the price in ways an automatic tool misses. It takes a little longer and avoids surprises later.
05How is the price calculated?
Mainly by material, machining or bending time, finish and quantity, plus any one-off tooling. See what drives sheet metal cost and how materials affect price.
06Is there a minimum order quantity?
No fixed minimum for machined and sheet metal parts — single prototypes are fine. For product OEM, the minimum depends on the tooling. OEM 起订量待核实
07Which file formats do you accept?
Dayao accepts STEP, IGES, X_T, SLDPRT, STL, PDF, DWG, DXF, JPG, PNG, ZIP and RAR files. For the most accurate quote, send a 3D model (STEP preferred) plus a 2D PDF drawing.
